16th century.
Tepulpaï and his best friend Naïra, two young indigenous children from the Andes, live happily in their village nestled in the Peruvian mountains. One day, an Inca procession arrives to collect the tax. The tax collector, in the name of Inti, the Sun God, decides to take the village’s sacred idol to offer it as tribute to the Great Inca.
For the village, it’s a disaster: the idol has protected them for generations! But for Tepulpaï, it’s a chance to finally prove what he’s capable of! Secretly, he leaves the village and sets off to find the sacred idol, the only thing that can save his people from the danger coming from across the seas.
